How Weather Affects Your Round

The weather can be very different from one end of the valley to the other. These are the details worth checking before a tee time.

Wind

Wind changes how the course plays

A light breeze is usually no problem. Once the wind gets past 25 km/h, exposed holes and courses on higher ground can play much tougher.

Temperature

The valley does not warm up evenly

Kelowna may be warm while Vernon or a course higher up is still cool. Early tee times can feel very different from the afternoon.

Rain

Recent rain matters too

A passing shower may not change much. Steady rain can soften fairways, slow greens and lead to cart restrictions.

Smoke

Smoke can move in fast

Summer smoke can move in fast when the wind shifts. Check the smoke reading and map before a full round.
